Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain

Good Monday to you!  This week I am acting as Paper Queen (thank you but hold your applause until the end LOL) over at Paper Playtime and this week's challenge is "Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain" which is sponsored by The Stamping Boutique.   I used one of their digital stamps for this challenge and colored her in using simple watercolor pencils and an aqua blending pen. I also used Stickles around the rain drops and puddle.  I didn't want to take away from the image so I didn't put a sentiment on the front. With these stamps I don't think you really need to put anything, the artwork will speak for itself.

This was my very first time ever using a digital stamp and I had SO MUCH FUN!!!  I'm hooked.  Give it a try and you'll have a blast too.

So head on over to Paper Playtime and play along with us. Be sure you take some time to "Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain", it's a beautiful symphony created just for us by a loving God.  :)

Take care
Stephanie

Baby girl mini album

Here is another project I worked on over Labor Day weekend for a baby shower gift.  I loooooooove how it turned out. Lots of handmade goodies in here including tulle flower that looks like a ballerina tutu, tons of stamping and embossing and pink goodness everywhere :)

Charms for September charm swap with Cindy

Ok so my blog managing skills are lacking, I'm working on that. I can only juggle so many online sites at one time .... well that and I'm learning new crafting skills. Woot woot! Yay me!

I've made so many projects over the summer it's insane and I am having a BLAST! Crocheting, making mini albums, cards, shadow boxes, altered wood shelves, charms...you name it I've had my grubby hands on it LOL

I have always wanted to learn beading and jewelry making but could never quite get it. I even held onto some of the supplies I bought when I first started out. So now the big thing is making charms to attach to a mini album or whatever you want to hang it from but mainly it's the mini album. One of the ladies I subscribe to on YouTube was hosting a charm swap for September and I dove in head first and signed up. I had so much fun!!  (so of course I had to go out and buy tons more beads and findings....tsk) YAAAAY!  I had to make 8 charms for my group and I will get back 1 of mine plus 1 from each of the 7 ladies in my group.

I decided to go for an autumn theme ... I am so ready for the holidays to start!!!  :)

Sunny Days!

I love summer, (except for the heat and humidity LOL).  So I really wanted to take part in Canadian Nickel Scrap'n "Summer Vacation" challenge.  I already made a vacation themed card so I didn't want to go that direction and I thought of flowers, sunshine and bright colors for summer. This is what I came up with.

Sunflowers cut from Walk In My Garden ...Sunny Days cut from Create A Critter and I think the sun also came from CAC.  I added some googly eyes to the sun for some character and drew in a smile lol.  I inked around all the cuts and the background paper with Martha Stewart cats-eye inks (clearance at Walmart for $6, set of 6 I think). Kraft cardstock for the card base cut to fit a business sized envelope (9x4).

Have a great Sunday!

Paper Playtime Challenge #2

Hiyas!

I have been in a slump the past week and made nothing except 3 sunflowers...and that only because I was playing around with my new cart (Walk in my garden)..found it at Michaels for $19.99 (!!!!) They are putting a lot of Cricut on clearance, deals to be found so get over there and check it out.

Anywho....this week's challenge over at Paper Playtime (blog hosted by the lovely and talented Janis of Pause Dream Enjoy) is  "In thy face I see Honor, Truth, & Loyalty."   I knew I wanted to incorporate God but I wasn't sure how. I found inspiration over at Alex's blog You Had Me At Craft ... after seeing her card and reading her post for this challenge I knew what I wanted to do.  To me, the cross represents honor, truth and loyalty and our freedom is found at the cross.
So I set out to make it. Naturally didn't have any crosses but the "t" from A Child's Year was good enough after a wee modification lol  The rest of the cuts are from Independence Day cart. All cut at 3".  That flag is cute! All the perfect little stars it leaves behind can be used for something else I'm sure. My cat Lucy is currently wearing most in her fur right now... she insists on sitting in my lap while I'm at the craft table. She needs a raincoat.

So head over to Paper Playtime and join in the fun. This week's Queen was Mary of Cardz tv.  Haha we had Queen Mary this week, who else can say that? LOL  I just love everything she does!

Happy Tuesday!

Freedom Card

Ms Mary over at  Cardz Tv posted a new segment called Super Simple.  Cards you can make in 5 minutes or so. In honor of Memorial Day, she did a card titled Freedom. So I went with that theme and recreated her card in an "Americana" vibe. Not so much a bright red white blue but a darker, deeper tone to the colors and an off white instead of white. I also ran my paper (DCWV Summer Dreams) thru the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder and inked the edges of everything in silver. The stars and "freedom" were cut from Graphically Speaking cartridge.
I really like how it turned out. I might make a set for the July 4th holiday.

Happy Memorial weekend!!
