I have been packing up my apartment and all of my scrappy crafty stuff is packed away...getting ready to move the end of April. It's going to be a bittersweet time for me. I loved my place, I've lived here for 11 years and it's home to me. But things change and it's time for me to move on to bigger and better things that God has in store for me. Sooooo with that said... I'm excited for the future. It really does feel like a shift has happened, for the better and I am incredibly happy about that. Trust God!
Second, if you are at all familiar with Project Life then you can appreciate this next comment. I WON a complete Project Life kit from Becky Higgins design team member MaryAnn on her blog Cherish Everyday Be sure to check out her blog, she has fantastic page layout ideas! I am over the moon excited about winning this kit and I can't wait to get started!
I hope you (whoever you are) ...are having a great weekend and God blesses you abundantly as he is sure doing for me! :)

Repurposed Frame
Ok I never know what is "repurposed" or "upcycled" or "altered"... it's the same right? Well, call it what you like... this is what I did. I had an old ugly print (see before pic) and was going to toss it but decided I'd turn it around and create something. I had no idea what cuz it's HUGE. 20 x 18. I finally used some of my Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden papers. So beautiful I just hate to cut them LOL But I chose 3 different patterns and 2 of them I cut down to fit around the 1 I left in the center uncut. I distressed the center piece with TH brushed corduroy and also distressed the lace with it. I glimmer misted a large doily and cut it in half, put each half on opposite corners. Brown velvet ribbon to hide the seam and finally I cut out some of the images from the scraps of my papers. I matted a photo of my nephew and niece, my favorite photo of them even thought it's about 8 years old. K&Co chipboard letters spell out "spring fun" (we were at the Houston Zoo in March of that year). I left room at the bottom to add some journaling later. I was worried it would be too thick to fit back in the frame (glass front, almost zero depth to it) but it fit! I'm so happy with how it turned out !

Pancakes!!!
Ok nothing crafty but I did MAKE something LOL I am much addicted to Pinterest and have decided to try some of the recipes and other stuff I've pinned (I will be making my own laundry soap now that I'll have my own washer and dryer. Hang on let me say that again.... my OWN washer and dryer....boy that feels great. I've always used the "laundrymat" here for the last 11 years....can't wait for my OWN washer and dryer). Ok enough about me. Let's talk PANCAKES!!!
I pinned this recipe (here's my Pinterest link) for whole wheat oat pancakes. Sugar free. I LOVE me some pancakes but they do bad things to my blood sugar and I feel sick after eating them. Soooo I've had to stay away...until now. Here is the RECIPE LINK from weelicious. I followed her recipe exactly and it turned out insanely delicious. My apartment smells like I baked cookies or something. (next time I may add cinnamon and vanilla, a tiny tiny bit tho). I ate one straight away and had to phone my mom (she's diabetic and I know she loves pancakes too so she will get this recipe tomorrow, I printed one for her).
Below is my picture of the first two pancakes I made from this recipe, don't judge my wonky shape LOL They were DELICIOUS!! I am freezing the rest (made about 12 regular "adult" sized pancakes).
Happy eating!

hmmmm.....
So it's Monday. Bleh. First Monday after "daylight savings" time change...we lost an hour. Double bleh. I mean really, what is the purpose of this anymore?!? Sometimes doing things just because we've always done it.... is stupid. (can you tell I'm grouchy?)
Nothing created today other than a mess in my kitchen which I refuse to photograph and share with the world wide web....even tho it totally goes with the name of my blog "1 Creative Mess" or Stephanie's Messy Corner :P I hope YOU were more creative with your time today.
....I'm feeling a bit "mini-album-ish" lately. I haven't worked on one since Christmas. Perhaps a mini album is in the works soon. We'll see. (my mind changes like a blinking light so stay tuned....you never know what's going to pop out) :)
Tah!

Blue Birds Proposal
Look I'm back already LOL I saw a technique using black and white Prisma pencils on kraft c/s and just had to try it out. Definitely one I'll have to keep working at, very tricky. But FUN! I stamped Gorjuss Girls "Blue Birds Proposal" stamp on regular (not heavy wt) kraft c/s and colored in with black and white Prisma pencils, blended with Gamsol (found at Texas Art Supply). Colored in the bird blue b/c I didn't like the way he turned out and decided he's a blue bird so let's make him blue. Fussy cut him out and glossy accented him to make him stand out. I think it turned out pretty cute. I'm going to do more of this black and white coloring! :)
Cards I've made recently
Ok so I don't have pictures but I have videos from my YouTube channel (stephanied2)
It's been how long since I've posted??
Way too long. I've neglected my blog for far too long. :( Poor neglected blog. *holding up my right hand* I do promise to try and keep up with my blog on a more regular basis.
Right now I'm getting ready to move at the end of April 2012. I already started packing.... yeah, I'm a bit obsessed with being ready / organized. I'm sitting here creating lists just to keep myself from packing more stuff that I'm sure I'll need in the next 50 days before I move LOL. (yes I even created a countdown calendar so I know exactly how many days are left) hehe :P
Chicken and rice soup is on the stove and biscuits in the oven so I have to run but I PROMISE to come back and post some pictures of things I've made recently.
